Trail Group has a strong ethos of making a difference at every level – providing training, creating jobs, delivering fire and building safety services to keep our communities safe, and in giving back by supporting a wide range of charitable causes.
Our teams undertake a significant amount of work for charity, donating their time, expertise, experience and funds to support a wide range of worthy causes – in Kent, the Southeast, nationally and internationally.
Protecting and supporting the community to make a difference is central to Trail Group’s ethos, in the services we provide to local people, job creation and training, and in the social value we deliver through our charitable and fundraising activities.
One of the biggest single community projects we have undertaken was to donate our services, expertise and materials, to the value of more than £60,000, to transform a disused building into a much-needed community centre in Sittingbourne.
Heather House Community Hub now houses a well-used community café, food bank, food pantry and domestic violence support. There is also a function room, named after Trail Group, to host events and classes.
Our charitable and fundraising initiatives have included:
We won a major award for our contribution to the community, in recognition of the delivery of an expanded range of services to improve the quality and safety of social housing and our record of supporting local communities and charities across the Southeast.
The award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Community’ at the Thames Valley Business and Community Awards recognised the contributions and achievements of organisations to make their community a better place and create lasting impact.
According to the award judges:
“Trail Group is committed to making a meaningful impact at every level. By dedicating time, expertise, experience, and funds, they support a diverse array of charitable causes within the community. Their dedication to philanthropy reflects their strong ethos of giving back and fostering positive change.”
Michelle Henneker, CEO of Sittingbourne and Sheppey Helping Ukraine / Heather House Community Hub:
“We are so proud to have been able to meet the needs of two local charities under one roof, to support the fantastic work they do. Huge thanks to Trail Group for their generosity and support. Their teams have worked tirelessly to help us create this happy and vibrant community hub. We cannot thank them enough.”
“We are in a cost-of-living crisis and there is financial deprivation in many areas of Swale. As a result, residents are often isolated and lack social contact. Creating a facility as simple as a community café, can literally change someone’s life.”
Claire Ives, Chief Operating Officer, Age UK Kent Rivers:
“The work Trail Group has put into the Heather House Community Hub is amazing and completely awe inspiring. The place looks fantastic, and we will be making sure so many people benefit from all of your hard work and generosity. Thank you.”
Luke Thomas, CEO, World Child Cancer:
“We are extremely grateful for the support of Trail Group. Their help with sponsoring numerous events, supporting our fundraising initiatives in person, and their CEO Warren Wright becoming one of our Ambassadors has been hugely beneficial to our activities. It is fantastic to have Trail so on board and active – from helping us with event organisation to sharing so many great ideas.”
“Their team’s passion for helping children with cancer and their understanding of the impact of the disease on children’s families is clear. Thank you so much for everything the business continues to do for our communities, and we look forward to working with their teams in the year ahead.”
Chitra Chandran, CEO, Chandran Foundation:
“We would like to say a massive thank you to Trail Group for their support for the Chandran Foundation for the past three years. Our first ever charity clay pigeon shoot, hosted by Trail Group, raised much needed funds to help us provide educational support for children in inner city London.”
“As a team, we have also benefited from valuable strategic guidance and mentoring from Trail’s CEO Warren Wright who has really helped us take the Foundation to another level and particularly by widening our network for fundraising. Trail Group has also provided administrative support for our events and fundraising which has been enormously beneficial. Their relentless commitment to making a difference in the community in the Southeast is there for all to see and the children we support have benefited hugely from this.”
