We’re proud to announce that Family Matters has been chosen as Trail Group’s Charity of the Year, marking the beginning of a new partnership that will see our team come together to raise funds and awareness for an incredibly important cause.
Family Matters provides free and confidential support to survivors of sexual abuse and rape across Kent and the London Borough of Bexley. Established in 1990, the charity provides specialist one-to-one therapy alongside a confidential support line offering practical and emotional advice.
As a business with strong roots in the communities in which we work, supporting organisations that make a genuine difference is extremely important to us. Throughout the year, the Trail Group team will be taking part in a range of activities to raise both funds and awareness for Family Matters.
First challenge: The Three Peaks in 24 hours
And we’re certainly not starting small.
On 8 September 2026, eight members of the Trail Group team will take on the Three Peaks 24 Hour Challenge, tackling Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon/Yr Wyddfa in just 24 hours.
Taking on the challenge will be Warren Wright, Stuart Contreras, Jason Dhoffer, Andy Kay, Terry Lucas, Aurimas Sakalauskas, Martin Stevens and Darren Vince.
The training is already well underway, with plenty of walking, cycling and miles being put in ahead of September.
It will be a huge physical challenge, but one the team is determined to complete together while raising as much as possible for Family Matters.
Making every step count
Family Matters relies on funding and donations to continue providing its specialist services. The charity explains that £25 can fund a one-to-one specialist therapy session, while £700 can fund a full course of 12 therapeutic counselling sessions for an individual survivor.
That makes every donation to our Three Peaks Challenge meaningful.
We’ve initially set ourselves a fundraising target of £1,500, and we would love the support of our clients, partners, suppliers, colleagues, friends and wider network to help us reach – and hopefully smash – that target.
This is just the beginning of our fundraising for Family Matters, and we’ll be sharing plenty more from the Three Peaks team as their training continues, as well as further activities throughout our Charity of the Year partnership.
Want to support the team?
Every donation, however big or small, will help Family Matters continue its vital work.
